International Montessori Institute (IMI) is a European training centre with a presence in different countries and continents, specialising in Montessori Education.
Our objective
To offer a classical and rigorous Montessori training based on the original Montessori sources. Dra. Maria Montessori adapted to today’s educational needs, bringing together the best of the Italian and Anglo-Saxon traditions in a single training centre.
To this end, we select trainers with both profiles, thus offering our students a broad and unique vision of Montessori Education.
Our teaching staff
Our teaching staff has been carefully selected for their extensive international experience, with the aim of transmitting all the richness of the Montessori Method.
This interesting combination makes IMI a unique Montessori meeting point in the world, where inter-Montessori dialogue is generated, ensuring fidelity to the ideas and vision of Dr. Maria Montessori.

Our mission
Given that this educational model is recognised by a large number of institutions and public and private organisations, whose aim is to help the child to obtain an integral development in order to achieve a maximum degree in their intellectual, physical and spiritual capacities, our purpose is to continue with the dissemination of Dr. Montessori’s great work, thus contributing to generate a necessary change in our current society.

Our vision
Our links with different public and private organisations, both national and international, are increasingly strong, which encourages us to continue to collaborate actively in the creation of innovative training programmes. One of our greatest challenges is to strengthen our presence at national level and, at the same time, to increase our presence at international level. To this end, in addition to our online training courses, we also hold seminars and training courses in different countries and continents. The implementation of new trainings in different languages, English, Italian and Portuguese, will enable us to transmit the Montessori method beyond our borders.
Our values
The ethical principles on which the culture of our school is based and which mark our behaviour patterns are the same as those that Dr. Montessori postulated during her lifetime. For this reason, our primary concern is for the children. We believe in a society for cohesion. A society that is based on values learnt from childhood with an educational system that places the child at the centre, giving them security and self-confidence; providing them with the necessary tools to develop to their full potential.

Since the opening of the first Montessori school in Rome in 1907, Montessori education has spread to such an extent that there are now more than 25,000 Montessori schools around the world. Maria Montessori transformed education by creating pedagogical materials that promote learning and focus on the idea that if anything needs to change, it should be the school, not the child.

During the year 2020 we have had the pleasure and privilege of having more than 2600 new students who have passed through our classrooms in different training courses.
