PRESENTATION

The Montessori methodology favours a personalized education, respecting individual differences: interests, rhythms and capacities.

Dr. Montessori began her educational work with children with disabilities, later applying these findings to the educational process of children with normal developmental conditions. To this day, scientific research continues to validate this pedagogy, as a set of elements that help the development of children, whatever their condition.

For this, the International Montessori Institute offers a training that facilitates inclusion in education through the prepared environment, Montessori materials and adult tasks.

Inclusion is a theoretical concept that emerged in the 1990s, referring to the fact that schools must respond to diversity. This term came to replace integration, which until that moment was predominant.

It starts from the idea that it is necessary to adjust the school system, so that it takes care of the needs of all students, instead of the students having to adapt to the system. The conscious and deliberate choice for heterogeneity in school constitutes one of the central pillars of the inclusive approach.
