The Practical Life exercises are related to the culture and customs of the environment that surrounds the child, allowing him to participate in his community.
They provide the child with an aid to their growth and development, since they are one of the first activities that the child performs in the prepared environment. They rely on their absorbent mind and are focused on meeting their natural interests and main development needs.
The Practical Life exercises have a psychological and personal value for the child. They are constructive, not only because they teach a purposeful activity, but because they favour the child’s internal development.
The result of these exercises is not the primary thing for the child, but the process, since they are activities that enrich his life. Through them, the child acts according to the interest of life itself, which leads him to order and perfection.
This vital need and strength of the child that leads him to get involved in a purposeful job is carried out under the jurisdiction of the physical and psychic elements, which are expressed in function of the child’s personality and which come from the development of his will.
This begins its structure under the strengthening of voluntary movements, which are translated into ordered movements that are directed by the mind towards an intelligent purpose, closely related to the formation of personality.
