PRESENTATION

 

At IMI, we have designed these 100% online 15-day courses that introduce education professionals and families to the pedagogical model created by Dr Maria Montessori at the beginning of the 20th century. In addition, it allows parents an approach to the most current research on parenting and focuses their attention on the development of their needs and potential.

These formations allow us to learn about Montessori pedagogy and how to introduce it into the daily activities of the home, contributing to the optimal development of its autonomy.

Montessori at home are a set of four online trainings of 15 days each, on Montessori Pedagogy that allows this pedagogical model to be brought closer to families and to all people interested in this educational method. With a total of 4 formations, independent but related to each other, Montessori at home offers the necessary tools to contribute to the physical, intellectual and moral autonomy of boys and girls for the stage of 3 to 6 years, through activities that reinforce sensory development and cognitive. Between the ages of 3 and 6, children need a space that stimulates their sensory, movement, and cognitive needs and that enhances their growing interest in reading and writing. Furthermore, during this stage of schooling, an adequate articulation between family and school is essential, in which bonds of trust and security are created.

These courses also aim to convey the importance of knowing how to create a suitable and stimulating environment at home that responds to the needs and potential of children.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

In this course we will learn how to stimulate oral, verbal and graphic expression at home, in a complementary way to school, which allows language development and communication with children. The course allows us to reflect on the importance of expression and suggests activities and materials to promote it.

CONTENTS

Language development 

During the process of language acquisition and development, parents need to know what guidelines to follow to help our children develop oral language and enrich their vocabulary, in addition to working on graphic expression through activities that we can introduce into everyday life.

 

Oral language

From the age of 3, work on the development of oral language is important. The training provides us with the necessary guidelines that we must know how to apply to motivate the learning of vocabulary and its enrichment in which a climate conducive to this purpose is determining. 

 

The mathematical mind

Everyday problems need the mathematical mind to solve them; measure distances, quantities and weights. Through sensory experience we can work on these concepts and allow children’s minds to reflect on abstract concepts that allow the development of their mathematical thinking. 

 

Mathematical thinking, sensory-motor experience

Although it may not seem like it, many of the activities that we carry out in our daily life allow the development of the mathematical mind. For this reason, knowing which stimuli to use to improve mathematical thinking will also develop sensorimotor actions, giving rise to stimulating symbolic representations and logical functions.
