At IMI, we have designed these 100% online 15-day courses that introduce education professionals and families to the pedagogical model created by Dr Maria Montessori at the beginning of the 20th century. In addition, it allows parents an approach to the most current research on parenting and focuses their attention on the development of their needs and potential.

These formations allow us to learn about Montessori pedagogy and how to introduce it into the daily activities of the home, contributing to the optimal development of its autonomy.

Montessori at home are a set of four online trainings of 15 days each, on Montessori Pedagogy that allows this pedagogical model to be brought closer to families and to all people interested in this educational method. With a total of 4 formations, independent but related to each other, Montessori at home offers the necessary tools to contribute to the physical, intellectual and moral autonomy of boys and girls for the stage of 3 to 6 years, through activities that reinforce sensory development and cognitive. Between the ages of 3 and 6, children need a space that stimulates their sensory, movement, and cognitive needs and that enhances their growing interest in reading and writing. Furthermore, during this stage of schooling, an adequate articulation between family and school is essential, in which bonds of trust and security are created.

  • How do we establish these links
  • How do we organize your space from the Montessori perspective?
  • How do we integrate children into daily activities?
Sharing with them our daily activities will allow them to improve their autonomy and the development of motor, intellectual and social skills.

  • What activities can we offer you
  • How do we design activities with everyday objects?
Outings outside the home are also a source of stimulation and learning. We can take advantage of the world around us to be able to develop their sensory experience, their autonomy and their language.

  • What places to choose and how to take advantage of the outings?

During this stage, home activities and outings should be aimed at promoting verbal, graphic and artistic expression.

These courses also aim to convey the importance of knowing how to create a suitable and stimulating environment at home that responds to the needs and potential of children.

Going Out, source of their autonomy

This training helps us to know how to prepare activities and walks, creating expectations and awakening the interest of the children. In addition to contributing to their sensory and cognitive development, the natural environment will become a setting for learning and creating family bonds. As a result of these activities, activities can be carried out at home through the collected materials and lived experiences.

“For the young child, art is life, and life is art.”

Carrying out family activities outdoors contribute to learning and knowledge of the world around us. The identification of the elements of the natural and cultural environment enhance observation and improve fixed social relationships, as well as behavior patterns in different environments.

Practical Life

One of the most important aspects of Montessori pedagogy is to involve children in daily tasks, thus awakening feelings of empathy and sensitivity in addition to improving their autonomy.

The activities of daily life can serve to improve the autonomy of children and the development of their motor, intellectual and social skills. This training allows parents to know and design, through everyday objects, simple and attractive activities to share with the family.

All the activities that we carry out in our day to day hide an enormous wealth. The course aims to show us how these tasks allow the development of human tendencies and enhance the absorbing mind of children in order to acquire concepts such as order, motor skills, coordination and internal development.

Everyday tasks are organized based on their purpose; movement, personal care and care for the environment. The training introduces us to the different activities that we can do at home and the elements necessary to carry them out.

In this training we will delve into subjects such as:

      • Practical life: heart of the Montessori perspective
      • Practical life: help for life
      • Practical life activities at home

  • Course length: 19/10/2020 to 01/11/2020 (15 days)
  • Cost:€12

The development of expression and mathematical mind

In this training we will see how to stimulate oral, verbal and graphic expression at home, in a complementary way to school, which allows language development and communication with children. The course allows us to reflect on the importance of expression and requires activities and materials to promote it.

We will delve into content as interesting as:

      • Language development.
      • Oral language.
      • The mathematical mind.
      • Mathematical thinking, sensory-motor experience.

“Any unnecessary aid is an obstacle to development”   Maria Montessori.

My child has grown

During this training we will see that between 3 and 6 years old children need an environment conducive to sensory and cognitive stimulation. For this reason, it is important that we know the procedures to follow to make our home a “prepared environment”. Furthermore, we are at a stage in which school becomes part of daily life, so new routines and habits must be defined.

  • What criteria should we follow from the Montessori perspective?
  • How to design your space?
  • What is the meaning of a prepared environment?
  • The socio-affective environment
  • How do we manage to keep order at home?
  • What criteria must we follow to create a climate of affection?

Stage from 3 to 6 years: The first years of life

As adults, we influence the development of the little ones, especially in the upbringing between 3 to 6 years. Therefore, favoring their physical autonomy during the first years of life will also favor the development of their intellectual and moral autonomy in the future.

In turn, today’s society sets changing and accelerated patterns of behavior that end up influencing the upbringing of our children. To minimize this impact, Montessori courses at home offer us the necessary tools to contribute to the physical, intellectual and moral autonomy of children through habits and activities that reinforce cognitive and sensory development.
