Specific Materials
Montessori materials were scientifically designed in an experimental context within the classroom, paying close attention to interests of children depending on their stage of development and with the conviction that handling objects helps the development of knowledge and abstract thought.
These materials allow children to investigate and explore individually and independently. They allow repetition, which promotes concentration. They have the quality of isolating difficulties, so each one introduces a single variable, an specific new concept, detaching it and leaving the other concepts unchanged. Materials include error control: will show children whether they used it properly. Therefore, children know that making mistakes is part of the learning process, they establish a positive attitude towards them, take responsibility for their own learning and develop self-confidence.
